AirPano is a Moscow based group of panoramas enthusiasts. We are focused on hi-resolution aerial panoramas

Normally, we shoot from a helicopter but sometimes we use light jets, dirigibles, air balloons and radio-controlled helicopter models.

During nearest 3 years the Airpano team is going to shoot the aero-panoramas and create the virtual tours of the most significant and interesting cities and corners of our planet. We already have created more than 100 panoramas which show more than 30 places of our world. You are welcome to see them on our website.

What are the spherical panoramas represented in this project?
In comparison with a traditional photography, where a viewer is limited with a framework of imprint, or in comparison with a video, where everything happens strictly in accordance with a scenario of director, in a sphere the viewer is transferred to the point of shooting and is at his/her own disposal: one can do everything he/she wants.

If there is a big screen, the technology allows a viewer imagine himself/herself in the place where a sphere was shot: under water, inside a room or a microwave oven and even in the sky of New York City.

Anyone can turn the head and look any side: up, down, to the left, to the right, ahead, back and different sides.

You can zoom in and view interesting objects in details. Besides, you can appear in other place only with one swift gesture.

Disadvantages: it's impossible to touch anything, but we‘re trying to change the situation :)
