Quote of the week
"
A dozen determined computer programmers can, if they find a vulnerability to exploit, threaten the United States' global logistics network, steal its operational plans, blind its intelligence capabilities or
hinder its ability to deliver weapons on target."
U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense William Lynn III, writing this week in new issue of the journal Foreign Affairs. In his piece, Lynn not only discussed the staggering challenges facing U.S. cybersecurity defenses -- a system he described as badly in need of a major overhaul – but also detailed "most significant breach of U.S. military computers" in history: a 2008 infection of military computers containing data on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
